Grilled Stuffed Pears Recipe
|
This Grilled Stuffed Pears recipe is best done on a grill over medium-hot coals, but it works great on an indoor grill or grillpan, too.
Ingredients
1 Bartlett pear, very ripe
1 tablespoon honey
Filling
6 peeled hazelnuts, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons old-fashioned rolled oats
1 teaspoon butter
4 teaspoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons pear nectar
Preparation
1. Peel, halve and core pear, and cut a small slice off the rounded side so that pear will be able to rest stably on the grill.
2. Place pear half on grill, flat side down, and brush with honey. Grill 10 minutes on each side, occasionally bushing again with honey.
3. Make the filling while pear is grilling. Using a small pan, stir hazelnuts and rolled oats together over medium heat to lightly toast.
4. Stir butter into pan until it melts.
5. Remove pan from heat and add brown sugar and pear nectar; stir.
6. When pear is grilled tender, spoon filling into center and serve.
